The Birmingham Clean Air Zone (CAZ) is launching on 1 June 2021

We offer CVRAS-Approved retrofit solutions for Taxis and Light Commercial Vehicles operating within the zone.

Check to see if you are entitled to a government financial incentive  of £5,000.00 (one-off payment) towards our CVRAS-approved retrofit. If successful, your personal contribution would be around £1,250.00

Birmingham will introduce a Clean Air Zone covering all roads within the A4540 Middleway Ring Road (but not the Middleway itself) from 1 June 2021.

The charges will be applied daily. A non-compliant vehicle driving in the CAZ will pay once for the day, then may drive in the CAZ area without limit on that day.

You will not have to pay a daily charge to drive in the CAZ if your vehicle is:

  • A diesel of Euro 6 (VI) standard of better (most new registrations after 1 September 2015)

  • A petrol of Euro 4 standard or better (most new registrations after 1 January 2006)

  • Zero emission, ie electric or hydrogen

  • Low emission, including CNG (compressed natural gas) and hybrids that either meet or go beyond Euro 6 diesel and Euro 4 petrol standards

  • CVRAS (Compliant Vehicle Registered Accreditation Scheme) retrofit solution, including LPG retrofits*

  • Any motorcycle or moped

  •

* LPG retrofits that are not accredited by CVRAS are not automatically compliant. Compliance would be based on the petrol or diesel part of the engine.
